BALINESE CREATIVITY

BALINESE CREATIVITY

Art is a characteristic of village life and the tradition of handing down specialized skills and aesthetics from generation to generation. In each village, the inhabitants focus on a specific trade and become experts in that particular craft, whether it is jewelry, painting, woodwork, stone carving or carpentry. With the creative energy of a whole village concentrating on a particular skill, high standards of workmanship are produced.

Love of craft is evident everywhere and it is inseparable from the history, customs, culture, beliefs, superstitions and every day lives of the Balinese. And everyday is an expression of their Creativity. As an offering to the Gods, Balinese create ornate leaf and flower petal offerings left in auspicious places throughout the family compound & throughout the streets of Bali.

I spent a lot of time in Ubud, the epicenter for Art & Creativity in Bali. I enjoyed the Performing Arts- Traditional Balinese dance and musical performances that can be seen nightly at various sites in and around the town. Just walking through the Rice Fields, there are many artists painting traditional art to admire and buy(of course.)
I especially love that artistic creation linked to the spirituality . Allowing time to make the world beautiful is considered a way to thank God. Beauty is divine. The divine is in the beauty. How sweet is this idea. There is no ego involved- only true inspiration from God. FABULOUS!!!

Lovely Lake Guided meditation

Sweden Lake Meditation
This meditation was created on my recent trip to Sweden. I enjoyed a lot of time on a beautiful lake. As I meditated, I was overcome with joy and contentment. Contentment for myself and a deep knowing and understanding that all is well in my life.
I hope that you enjoy this offering of peace from my Summer in Sweden.

"First meditate, be blissful, then much love will happen of its own accord. Then being with others is beautiful and being alone is also beautiful. Then it is simple, too. You dont depend on others and you dont make others dependent on you. Then it is always a friendship, a friendliness. It never becomes a relationship, it is always a relatedness. You relate, but you dont create a marriage. Marriage is out of fear, relatedness is out of love. You relate; as long as things are moving beautifully, you share. And if you see that the moment has come to depart because your paths separate at this crossroad, you say good-bye with great gratitude for all that the other has been to you, for all the joys and all the pleasures and all the beautiful moments that you have shared with the other. With no misery, with no pain, you simply separate.

Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation
Different styles of meditation have been practiced for centuries in every culture on Earth, and there are hundreds of different techniques. .Some are more supportive and introspective, and some are more conducive to helping develop a long-term practice. It is my intention, through Guided Meditation to help you to train your mind to let go and find Peace & Stillness. Allow yourself to be with things as they are without resistance. Once you have found that sweet space within, where there is calm and peace, allow yourself to drop in deeper.
Love,
Marla

"Without meditation, and without a relationship to your mind, you fail to use the power of the mind. You fail to rely on your self. You complicate your approach. You do not use the beautiful designs given to you by birthright in this body, that link the effectiveness of body, mind, soul and you."

Yogi Bhajan

Vipassana
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living.
This non-sectarian technique aims for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of full liberation. Healing, not merely the curing of diseases, but the essential healing of human suffering, is its purpose.
Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.
The scientific laws that operate one's thoughts, feelings, judgements and sensations become clear. Through direct experience, the nature of how one grows or regresses, how one produces suffering or frees oneself from suffering is understood. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace.
